The coroner’s concerns
S are as follows: My concern is that during the evidence it became clear that that the problems encountered in the Emergency Department on 4th June 2019 were mainly brought about by staff shortages. I was told that staff shortages occur on a daily basis and I believe that as a result lives of this citizens of Milton Keynes are being put at risk and the problem should be addressed as a matter of urgency. 6 ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN In my opinion action should be taken to prevent future deaths and I believe you (and/or your organisation) have the power to take such action. 7 YOUR RESPONSE You are under a duty to respond to this report within 56 days of the date of this report, namely by 21st November 2019. I, the coroner, may extend the period.
